MSCHF has manufactured a wide range of products, ranging from chocolate bars to gummy bears, social media channels and tasty AI-generated candy formulas.
NEW YORK, Feb. 15, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Move aside, Willy Wonka: A confectionery factory named MSCHF is recruiting a professional taste tester.
The job has enticed many candidates from across the world — a moment for whimsy in the stressful yet humdrum realm of job listings.
In this role, the main objective would be to determine whether or not a product is suitable to be listed on the menu.
This all takes place within the company's "Candy Intelligence Agency."
Last week, the NYC-based company began searching to find what it describes as the world's first chief candy officer.
The employee will have the responsibility of taste-testing roughly 6,500 products each month, running company board meetings and creating the inventory wholesale menu with their CCO stamp of approval.
That's a massive amount of candy: about 339 pieces per day, slightly under fifteen times the recommended amount of daily sugar, according to dietary guidelines released by the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services.
Thankfully, the application suggests all chosen applicants will be guaranteed "extensive dental coverage."
The requirements are fairly minimal: applicants must be at least 5 years old, reside in North America, South America or Asia and have an "outrageous" love for sugar.
Parents can apply for their children, and the CCO will undergo extensive training to certify their eligibility before they're entrusted to select MSCHF stock.
"Like the love of candy — the position isn't bound by age, all that is needed is a passion for candy, pop culture, and a sweet tooth," said Nicholas Crutcher, the CEO of MSCHF.
The CCO will be able to work remotely or in-person at one of our shipping hubs located in New York City.
They'll have the option of working a typical 45-hour workweek, unless they're under 18 years old, in which case the position will adapt to accommodate their schedule.
The position doesn't have an expiration date.
If a 5-year-old is selected, they could potentially hold the CCO title for their entire life.
The job listing says applicants should be "natural born leaders," and have an "eagerness and enthusiasm to try confectionary products."
Applicants don't necessarily need taste-testing experience to submit a resume and a cover letter, but an interest in media is certainly a bonus.
That interest in media may have something to do with MSCHF's Instagram presence: The CEO has over 2.5 million followers on the platform, so the eventual CCO will get plenty of social media exposure.
The company also appears to be currently hiring for social media personalities, which has an hourly wage starting at $31 per hour.
